 Associate Veterinarian

Silverlake Animal Hospital in Pearland TX is looking to add to our wonderful team of veterinarians.  This is a full-time Associate Veterinarian position.  Both experienced and new grads are welcome to apply.  We are a full service companion animal hospital that is AAHA-accredited. Our focus is high quality care and client education, and our clientele are interested in going above and beyond for their pets.  We are privately owned and not part of any corporate chain.

Our hospital is low drama and we want you to enjoy coming to work every morning.  We value our employees and our clients, and work-life balance is key for all of us.  We are currently a 3.5 doctor practice. 

We have all the usual toys - ultrasound, digital radiographs with all cases sent for radiologist review, dental radiology, electronic medical records, computers in every exam room, and in-house labs.  All surgeries are monitored both by the latest equipment and a dedicated, trained technician.  

 Our excellent long term technical staff of LVTs and assistants can do it all and will allow you to focus on being a doctor.  We have 30-60 minute appointments, refer after-hours cases to a local EC just across the street, and our Saturday hours are limited and shared among the doctors.  

You will have time for family or hobbies with a set 4 day work week, averaging 32-35 hours.

Kennel Technician/Veterinary Assistant

The holidays are near and Silverlake Animal Hospital is looking to add to our team of Kennel Technicians/Veterinary Assistants. Position is FULL-TIME, long-term. Must be able to work rotating weekends. Must be friendly, personable, work well in a team atmosphere and alone, be able to multi-task, be able to prioritize properly, be comfortable handling and restraining cats and dogs, and be a good communicator.

Our Kennel Technician/Veterinary Assistant position entails caring for all pets in the hospital, assisting our technicians, client communication, and maintaining hospital cleanliness.

Candidate must be dependable and willing to work in a fast-paced companion animal, 4 doctor, AAHA accredited practice. We pride ourselves in high quality patient and client care. Kennel technicians learn all of our cleaning standards, follow our cleaning standards, learn all kennel protocols, follow all kennel protocols, restrain pets properly for exams and medical procedures, assist veterinary technicians/doctors when needed, learn veterinary knowledge including vaccination protocols, heartworm prevention, medications (how to administer, dosing), animal behavior, and basic pet monitoring. Candidate must provide care and handle aggressive dogs and cats when boarding.

We are a paperless practice so candidate must be able to type quickly and be able to use the computer software system to accurately and efficiently search for information, mark off duties that have been completely, and document all pet behavior, urination, defecation.

Daily duties of Kennel Technician/Veterinary Assistant include but are not limited to the following:

Walking dogs, medicating dogs and cats, feeding and watering pets, sanitizing kennels, washing dishes, scooping yards, scooping litter boxes, cleaning up accidents pets may have make in their kennels or in the hospital, cleaning the hospital floors, maintaining the cleanliness of the kennel facility, keeping the hospital smelling pleasant throughout the day, cleaning the outside perimeter of the hospital clean, performing baths, nail trims, ear cleanings, and anal gland expressions. Properly checking in and discharging boarding or medical day admission patients, maintaining compassion, sympathy and professionalism during high-stress situations. Assisting in restraint during physical patient exams and treatments, providing assistance to veterinary technicians and doctors as needed.

Kennel Technicians/Veterinary Assistants also have to be comfortable handling euthanasia, making paw impressions of pets, and preparing/painting paw impressions in a timely manner post-euthanasia.

**Since this position is for our boarding department, it does consist of working holidays & weekends, since we care for the fur babies while owners are away :)

Experienced Client Service Representative

We are looking to add to our skilled team of Client Service Representatives. Position is FULL TIME (32-40 hrs/week) or PART TIME (less than 30 hrs/week) with shift times varying. (7am-1pm, 12pm-6pm, 7am-6pm). Must be able to work rotating Saturday mornings.

Must be friendly, personable, outgoing, have excellent customer service skills, be able to multi-task, and be able to prioritize properly. Candidate must show initiative to strive to learn clients and patients by first name basis and juggle multiple phone lines while checking clients in and out and maintaining a top level of customer service while doing so. Must also learn veterinary knowledge including vaccination protocols, heartworm prevention, medications (purpose, how to administer, dosing), lab work testing, & time sensitive testing in order to schedule correctly.

Candidate must be dependable and willing to work in a fast-paced companion animal, 4 doctor, AAHA accredited practice. We pride ourselves in high quality patient and client care. Greeting all clients and pets by name,informing clients of expected waiting time, maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the lobby and reception area. Reception duties including answering all incoming calls, screening and directing calls to appropriate doctor or staff member, documenting all client communications, scheduling appointments, confirming appointments, reviewing treatment plans for services, reminding clients what services pets are due for, reviewing protocols with clients for specific appointments.

Financial responsibilities include verifying charges, taking cash/credit card payments accurately, reconciling the daily log at end of the day. We are a paperless practice, so candidate must be tech-savvy, able to type quickly and be able to properly use the computer software system to accurately and efficiently search for information and document all communications.

*A minimum of 1 year of Veterinary Hospital Experience is a MUST* *This is a long-term position so only serious candidates should apply*

Experienced Veterinary Technician

We are wanting to add to our fantastic team of Veterinary Technicians! Position is FULL TIME (32-40 hours/week). Candidates must be available during our business hours of 7am-6pm Monday-Friday & be available to work rotating Saturday mornings.

Must be friendly, have a positive attitude, have great client communication skills, have excellent technical skills, have excellent veterinary knowledge, be able to work well in a team atmosphere, be able to multi-task, be time-efficient, and be able to prioritize properly.

Candidate must be dependable and willing to work in a fast-paced companion animal, 4 doctor, AAHA accredited practice. We do have high expectations since we are an AAHA hospital & we are a very tech-driven hospital. There are only 3 accredited practices in the Pearland area & we are one! We pride ourselves in high quality patient and client care & are looking for a team member that fits in well with our team and our values. *Must have at least 1 year of experience in a multi-doctor practice setting with experience including drug calculations, monitoring anesthesia, canine & feline dental cleanings, canine & feline digital dental radiography, canine & feline venipuncture, restraint, & hospitalization skills/monitoring.
